We have previously been given the funding to supply a couple of families with shower trolleys, however, we are currently looking for more funding to be able to provide even more of our VIPs with this amazing piece of equipment. A shower trolley is an alternate way of bathing, for our young people who only have shower chairs, a shower trolley can be a much more positive and comfortable experience. The individual is able to lie in the shower trolley and have the shower water gently pouring over them; in addition to this, a huge benefit of the shower trolley is that it has a plug so the water can be held within the walls of the shower trolley to give the individual a shallow bath. This enables the young person to have a ‘soak’ with bath bombs, bubbles, aromas and sensory lighting. The shower trolley is also battery operated so the carer is able to adjust the height to enable safe moving and handling.
