In previous years, we have been very fortunate to receive funding for an inclusive family activity weekend at Bendrigg Trust. We would love to be able to send more families to Bendrigg to experience thrilling activities that everyone can participate in. On our past residential, our young people have abseiled down the wall of a quarry in their wheelchairs, been deep into a cave, done kayaking alongside their parents and siblings and participated in zip wiring, camp fires, archery and bush crafts. Bendrigg Trust has adapted accommodation that sleeps 24, this enables families to have their own bedroom within the same house as other families. Our inclusive family residential weekend is a perfect way to break social isolation that our families face on a regular basis. We are hoping to secure more funding to attend Bendrigg Trust again next year.
