Harley aged 8 suffers with macrocephaly, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, scoliosis, hearing and visual impairment, is gastrostomy fed and has severe learning difficulties.
Harley needs to spend time each day weight bearing in a standing frame to help slow down the rate at which his hips are dislocating, give him full posture management out of his wheelchair , prevent chest infections and improve his self-esteem. The standing frame provided by the NHS had taken Harleys independence away as he can only stand stationary in it, and he is a very good self-propeller in his wheelchair. We were able to purchase him a mobile stander with big wheels, that has changed his life. His independence has increased along with his self-esteem and he now stands more frequently as it is now an enjoyable positive experience for him.
