We were overwhelmed to receive a call from the Tibra Capital Foundation earlier this year to inform us we had been selected to receive a donation. Our trustee Norman attended their offices for a presentation and we received a letter a few days later informing us they were going to be making a donation of £15,000!. This money is going to our respite homes project enabling us to send families on crisis breaks who have children recovering from major spinal surgeries or chemotherapy. Each family is provided with £200 to cover travel and food provisions whilst staying at one of our owned respite homes for one week. These holidays are a lifeline to families as without exception one parent has to give up employment to care for their child, putting enormous pressure on them financially. We feel it is imperative to give the child and family something to look forward to by escaping their everyday stresses and enabling them to spend quality time together. We are indebted to Tibra Capital for ensuring our respite project plays a pivotal roll in our activities for 2012. We have families booked in every week from March-October every year, and they are always fully booked a year in advance.
