Strongbones is the nominated charity of Essex based estate agents Douglas Allen . The staff of individual branches have been working tirelessly over the last two years to raise over £13.7k . The focus of the years fundraising events was the Human Race Triathlon at Blenheim Palace with teams cycling, running and swimming to raise money. As part of Arun Estates they were part of a group of fewer than 80 teams and 240 staff taking part.
Many of the branches also held separate events, for example the Wickford branch completed an indoor triathlon in their High Street office as preparation. All members of the team took part to complete a combined distance of 210K raising £355 on the day. On the day Nicolle was one of the first contestants out of the water, completing her swim in 17 minutes 21 seconds. Tony completed the cycling part in 50 minutes 55 seconds, lapping several other riders. Tanya completed the running section despite suffering a twisted ankle on the final lap.
To encourage people to support the Triathlon event, the Wanstead branch entered anyone donating more than £10 into the “Brick Lane Ruby Murray Raffle” with a chance to win a free meal out at a traditional Brick Lane Indian Restaurant.
The branches are busy organising fundraisers to help children gain independence and improve their quality of life. We feel privileged to be selected as their nominated charity for a further year and cannot thank all the staff enough for their wonderful efforts.
