On 4th August 400 children and parents descended onto Dunchurch Park Hotel for a fully inclusive family day where they were welcomed through Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory Gates by Willy Wonka himself. Amongst the entertainment in our large circus tent, there were sensory light shows, stilt walkers and every kind of circus entertainer you can imagine bursting with sensory interaction. We also had small critters, Disney princesses, a Star Wars troop, sports cars, an LED sensory disco, circus workshops, crazy golf, mirror disco dancers, table top games, and the entire cast of Alice in wonderland, and much more. It was a day full of inclusive activities for the whole family, filled with fun, laughter and networking with an army of volunteers including the local police and the Warwickshire fire brigade. Children played together without boundaries and parents formed new friendships. It is vital that we continue to battle social isolation for our families in providing these events where they can spend quality time together as a unit. This is by far our most successful large event to date and it was heart-warming to hear so many families’ positive testimonials of the day on social media.
