This August we attended the Bendrigg Activity Centre for a 5 day stay.
Our group residential breaks and social activities are designed to reduce social isolation among children and provide opportunities for participation in inclusive wheelchair-accessible activities. These experiences aim to broaden aspirations, enhance self-confidence, and facilitate the formation of friendships. We have organised group residential trips for many years, consistently achieving positive outcomes in building self-esteem and introducing children to rural environments
Bendrigg offers fully accessible accommodation equipped with track hoists and profiling beds in each room, with all meals and activities included. Activities available to participants include an abseiling , wall climbing, adapted cycling, archery, canoeing, sailing, axe throwing, bushcraft, and caving—all fully accessible for wheelchair users.
The programmes foster a culture of inclusion, encourage participants to explore new experiences, and support the development of lasting friendships and support networks.
