WHY STRONGBONES?

Our Trustees, Norman McNamara, Hugh McDowell and Roger Stott are three retired police officers, with over 90 years of combined service between them, and through knowing each other for this length of time, have become very close friends. Two of them know, through friends and family members, children who have Scoliosis and Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Being close to these children, has shown the Trustees concerned, that there is an urgent need to bring children with a similar plight to the attention of the General Public, hence Strongbones Children's Charitable Trust was registered with the Charity Commissioners for England and Wales. As they are retired, they have time to play golf, gardening, and the usual things that retired people do, but with the common bond that exists between them, they felt that their lives would be much better spent helping those less fortunate than themselves.

For several years, Norman himself has suffered with Arthritis, but none the less, has still found plenty of time to voluntarily help various charities, and through this work, he was able to meet many children unfortunately suffering from various bone disorders, and is well aware of the financial and supportive needs of these children and their families.

Please take your time to look around our site, and learn more about Strongbones, Scoliosis and Rheumatoid Arthritis.
