SPECIAL THANKS TO THE N.F.D.C

The Trustees, Social Services and the families who have benefited would like to once again offer their sincere thanks to the National Federation Of Demolition Contractors (please click here to visit their site) for their significant contributions that they have made to our charity.

Our first introduction came from an innocent phone called requesting a donation to assist with the purchase of equipment for a young girl named Sarah Yarrow. To our amazement, the N.F.D.C. very kindly funded the entire cost of a specially adapted chair, which was £1,200.

Since then they have amazingly made several very large donations which have helped us complete the following projects:

  • The Supplying of a hrydrotherapy pool for Thomas.
  • Costs towards several holidays to Disney World, Florida, and Disney Land, Paris.
  • Helped families out of their financial difficulties.
  • The purchase of vitally needed medical equipment.
  • Specially Attapted Trikes.

To our total amazement, they purchased our first holiday home at Great Yarmouth, which will allow us to send many families away for a much needed break, especially those with children who have never had a holiday due to their circumstances. After purchasing the home at a cost of £8,500, we realised that a lot of imrovements had to be made, to create a comfortable and relaxing environment for these families.

The total cost of the refurbishment is £8000, and once again the N.F.D.C so kindly donated the funds to cover the entire cost. and to our total amazement, they purchased us our third home in Hastings in August of this year.

The N.F.D.C Charity Committee contacted us for a list of children who required help, which we supplied detailing our most needy families. We hoped for some response, so you can imagine how overwhelmed we were to learn that they were prepared to cover the full costing of the entire list, which amounted to a staggering sum of £9,800. This sum has enabled us to secure the purchase of a hydrotherapy pool with a donation of £5,000, complete the Crimmins holiday to Florida with a donation of £1,800, Send Joe and his family to Disneyland, Paris with a payment of £1,300, purchase sensory equipment worth £200 and not forgetting a donation of £1,500 for Peter and his family to ease the financial strain at this special time of year.

We also supplied the federation with information regarding our holiday home appeal, which to date had only £1,500 secured towards the amount needed for £10,000. The N.F.D.C have astounded us yet again by completing this appeal for us with a donation of £8,500. This will enable us to send additional children and their families away each year, at a lower cost to the charity, leaving us more funding to help new referrals from social services, plus adequately adapt the chalet to accommodate children with disabilities. This is hopefully the first of many holiday homes to be purchased to provide respite holidays for the children and their families.

This company has played an integral part of the progession of our charity, in funding much needed projects. Without their help, we would have been unable to provide some of these services to these children and their families.

As said by one of our families that the N.F.D.C helped, "It's wonderful to know that there are people like them [the N.F.D.C] around. Just when it seems all the lights are going out, like a little candle, their kindness shines in our darkness."

We would like to take the time to thank the N.F.D.C for everything they have helped us achieve, their generousity is truely amazing.
