WHO AND WHAT WE FUND ?

We donate funds to children suffering from arthritis, scoliosis, brittle bone disease, bone cancer and all other conditions of the bone. Applicants must be under the age of 21.

We provide grants for medical equipment, wheelchairs, computers/software, respite breaks at our holiday homes,  sensory equipment, clothes,  and social activities.

Equipment and items over £1,000 must be accompanied with a quote.

ALL REQUESTS FOR EQUIPMENT MUST BE ENDORSED BY YOUR CHILDS NHS CONSULTANT OR PHYSIOTHERAPIST IN THE FORM OF A COVERING LETTER

FINANCIAL INFORMATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL

This enables us to ensure help is going to those who need it most.  Financial details are kept completely confidential.

WHO CAN REFER AN APPLICANT ?

The form must carry the details of a qualified medical professional (i.e. occupational therapist, G.P, consultant), school nurse or social worker. By signing the form you give us consent to contact the certified person to confirm the child’s medical condition.

EXCLUSIONS

Holidays Abroad (only holidays at our UK respite homes are provided)

Driving Lessons

Debts/Bills

Equipment without an assessment from a NHS physiotherapist or OT

Household appliances and furniture (excluding washing machines/dryers for incontinence or beds/mattresses for children)

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT ?

Once we receive your completed application it will go forward to the next available trustee’s meeting and we will contact you thereafter.   The trustees meet every three months so it may take up to three months to receive a decision.  If there are not enough funds to help everyone selected they will roll over to the next meeting.  Emergency applications for children with bone cancer or terminally ill children will be assessed inbetween meetings.

Repeat applications for a grant will not be accepted until 12 months since the date you last received a grant or since you received the equipment.  There is no guarantee a further application will be successful, as new applications will take priority.  If unsuccessful you may re-apply at a later date.

GRANT CONDITIONS

If your application is successful, the following conditions will apply.

Proof of purchase will be required in the form of a receipt and a photo, along with an update of how the grant has benefited the child.
