Respite plays a vital roll in the life-changing conditions for these children.

Many of the children on our lists have other conflicting illnesses, such as cerebral palsy, and neurological disorders. For this reason many of their parents have had to give up employment to become full time carers to their children. We find it very heartbreaking that many of our families have never had a holiday, due to these circumstances.

We are pleased to announce that we now own three fully furbished holiday homes, which are located in California Sands, Scratby, Great Yarmouth, Cala Gran Park in Blackpool and Coombe Bay, Hastings. The sites have fantastic amenities including their own swimming pool and children’s entertainment in the clubhouses. All the homes are close to the rides and arcades, and a very short walk to the famous golden beaches.

Each family will be granted £250 spending money for a one week holiday. Any help that you can provide with this appeal would be greatly appreciated, as we will have families booked in from April-September of next year, with an approximate cost of £18,000.

The thank you letters we have received from the families have been very touching and emotional, and shows us just how much it means to them to be able to have a break away from their everyday stresses, and enjoy time together as a family unit, which is something many of us take for granted.

All the families have commented on how lovely and homely the accommodations are furbished.

We would like to give our heart-felt thanks to the National Federation of Demolition Contractors for helping us to complete this project and allowing us to enhance the quality of many children and their families’ lives.

We would also like to thank the Round Table of Great Yarmouth for their contribution which allowed us to pay for the first year's maintenance.

If you know of a family with a child/children that suffer from any of the diseases (that are within our criteria) that could do with a week or two away from it all, then please do not hesitate to contact us to see if something can be arranged. We provide spending money and travel costs to successful applicants. We are currently taking bookings for March 2006. If you require further information please contact our Grants Officer Miss April Fitzmaurice.
